I have the Plex Media Server running on a windows 7 machine located on my home network. There are no firewalls or blocking on my local network.
Most, if not all of the video files I download from the Internet in mkv format and convert to mp4 using ffmpeg, do not give me the option to delete them after watching. When I descend into “more” menu , i.e., the triple dots, only option I see is “shuffle” and nothing else.
My downloads and ffmpeg conversions are done on the same windows-7 machine, where the plex server is running.
Sometimes, if the video stays for a long time on the server without being watched, I can see all the option on the “more” menu, including delete. But If I am watching the video on the same day or day after, I have this predicament of not being able to delete.
The “delete from the app” option must be enabled (my server install was default) as I can delete some of the videos.
What is my problem? How can I get rid of it? I checked the file security permissions under security tab on files and can’t see anything different between the file that can be deleted and one which can not be.
