Can not record any program from ION, Channel 33.1 in Seattle. Transcoder Error

Did stress that the curl capture had to be simultaneous with the time of the failure

So please repeat

Start curl capture with the same arguments as plex is using

http://192.168.1.226:5004/auto/v33.1?transcode=heavy -o "D:\Video\331_Video.ts"

Note down exact time of start of capture - you could call time command in the command line immediately before calling curl

and whilst the capture is running, then do the test for recording from 33.1
and when it fails, stop the curl capture and let me have all the diagnostics

Could I have logs for that please and separate stream capture starting capture before live TV start

I’m sorry, I guess I can’t follow instructions. Here is the time:

And attached are the logs from when I started the recording during the curl capture:

I hope this is helpful.

Here is some data for playing 33.1 live:

There wasn’t any issue with watching the Live TV on the computer. I canceled after a few minutes and then stopped the curl capture.

@sa2000 Have you seen this? Plex + HDHomeRun - Can't record one specific channel but I can tune to it no problem and also watch this channel on other tuners too

I’ve seen the same thing when trying to watch 33.1 live with the Android app (but not with the Plex application in Windows). Asks if I’d like to watch from the start 504 mins ago, where it’s not being recorded at the time. I’m starting to suspect there is something in the ION transport stream data that Plex doesn’t like.

That appears to be the problem area - all to do with time and what time the segments represent - I am not sure where in the .ts file that information would be but it appears the problem area.

Here is the very short/small TS file that resulted from my recording attempt, if that is helpful at all.

@sa2000 Can I provide any more help to resolve this?

It has been referred to the development team. Need to wait until it is looked at

Roger that, thank you for the reply.

@sa2000 Has there been any progress on this? I need to cut expenses with the COVID-19 economic downturn (I’m being furloughed one week a month), and when this is fixed I can stop paying for Channels DVR.

Will try and find out

As of the latest version, 1.19.3.2764, I still cannot record ION.

Any further news? This is still a problem on the latest release.

@sa2000 This may be fixed with version 1.19.4.2935.

A recording is in progress, and it hasn’t quit after a few seconds. We’ll see if the recording is watchable after it finishes.

@sa2000 False hope, it recorded for half an hour and then said the recording was canceled.

I presume it is still detecting end of recording time period prematurely

I suspect you are correct. I tried another recording, and it quit after a few minutes, partial recording, with the reason that the recording was canceled.

@sa2000 I’m hoping this gets resolved eventually, based on what I’ve seen elsewhere in the forum the Plex DVR cannot record shows on ION Television anywhere in the US.

Trying to see if this can move up the priority list
