can Plex DVR read analog signal from Coax Cable?

Hello!
I try to set Up a personal DVR with Plex… i currently have a Quad-TV card from hauppauge, but my Qam signals are all blocked by the cable distributor, Vidéotron, when i plug the Coax cable and try to scan my channels…

i plan to probably return the Quad-TV card ;-( and get instead a Hauppauge WinTV HVR-2250 with analog signal and maybe get a decoder from videotron (not a PVR, just the decoder) and plug it from the Coax in the wall to bridge with my card to record and manage my own PVR via Plex…

my question: will it work? have someone tried it before ( without having any antenas outside, i can’t install one where i live) ? anyone got successful? Or i am draming big time?

I am wondering if Plex will be able to record in SD formats the channels i have via PVR and the card (Hauppauge WinTV HVR-2250) because the Quad-TV only get the Qam signals…

best regards

Jebelis

Plex doesn’t support analog channels, sorry.

is there a possibility that can be happening in the future?

Very unlikely, analog TV is a dying technology.
