I have PMS installed on my Mac Mini running High Sierra (can’t go any higher, my Mac is 2012…)
I have been spending all my time converting all movies and tv shows to .M4V format with Handbrake, because I was previously using iTunes. I don’t wanna use iTunes anymore,
I had also been spending valuable time adding metadata to all these same files by using MetaZ (which is the only half-decent metatagger on Mac anymore). So all these movies and shows now have FULL tags with movie posters embedded.
I want Plex to use what I’ve added to these files.
But Plex refuses. It instead reads the FILENAME and tags all my movies on top of existing tags, then sorts all movies using FILENAMES again.
Some movies have been renamed, some haven’t. Example: All my Star Wars movies are named “Star Wars Episode IV - A New Hope - 1977 (HD).m4v” except for the truefrench translations which are called "La Guerre Des Étoiles Épisode IV 'blablabla. When I sort by titles, all “Star Wars” movies should be together, and all “La Guerre Des Étoiles” movies should be together.
What I see is one, then the other, then back, then forth, etc… just downright confused.
I get that roman numerals will mess up the order, but this isn’t what’s happening. This is random ordering.
So I need to know why the actual tags aren’t being read. My tags contain the true title of the movie not including the year, the (HD), etc. The title from the tag is not what is being read currently.
Do I need a plugin of some kind?
I’ve removed all movies from my lib, cleaned bundles, emptied trash, etc. Help me out here, please.
