Can plex server tailor video list per family member?

I’m new to Plex, and really like it. I’ve got Plex server working very well, but have come up against a problem that’s a very big deal to me that I’m sure others have found a ‘best practice’ way to address. Here’s the puzzle I need to solve: I’m the person in my family with some technical computer skills, but have many family members who want to use plex both for everything plex offers and just as much to see the family content. So far, probably a fairly common thing and it’s all good. But here’s the big issue:

Different family members, both young adults and senior citizens, have content that’s special to them that has limited value to most. They really really want me to put up video of their trip to the beach with the new baby or some nostalgic thing from 50 years ago-- but I know if I do that it will terribly clutter the “library” plex shows to everyone with so many things of limited interest to most, and so badly most will be frustrated trying to find the content they like best.

So, what’s the ‘plex best practice’ for this situation? When I get a bunch of video from a family member, how can I put it into some bucket that makes it super-easy for that person to see what they want, but perhaps not so much for everyone else? It’s just fine if ‘everyone can see everything’ , if they look hard enough, or go into a folder that’s ‘about the named person’ – but on the most favored ‘general screen’ with the big list and all the thumbnails, the one that pops up under ‘library’ – how do I make that ‘do the right thing’? Is there some way to tag a vido with ‘who likes it best’ or , well, what?

Thanks!!

This is usually done by adding “sharing labels” to a video and link sharing your libraries to that label. If their content doesn’t align at all it might also make sense to place it in different libraries.

You can also create more libraries than one, and then decide not to share some of them to all users.

This is probably the more practical solution without a Plex pass.
