Hi,
I want to share homevideo content to family from my home video libarary.
But all I see is restricting content for Movies and TV Shows. I don’t want to restrict those. Only for my library with Home videos.
When I setting labels to my video clips and restricting the label for the user under Movies. They can see the clips but all Movies disappear.
I don’t want to restrict in movies library. Only Home Videos library. Am I stupid? or why can’t I seem to be able to do so?
Thanks in advance =)
Simple fix: create another library for home movies and add the media you want them to see. Share that library with them and don’t share your other home video library.
That would be one way to do it. But it’s not a simple fix.
Meaning I need to split up all my home videos into two different folders on my NAS. I am havning all my videos in date order on my NAS. Moving some would f*ck up my folder logic.
There have to be a way to set restrictions on different libraries? Plex just can not be that stupid to append restriction rules over several libararies, right?
Personally I would do what Otto is stating…
Create a new folder\library… copy the files that you want into that folder\library leaving the original library alone (no folder logic issue). Share the new library as Otto stated.
Yes, that would be a workaround. It’s a poor solution. But hey, what’ll you do.
Maybe I can hardlink the files so all the extra terabytes does not take up space on my NAS.
I acctually put in a request for this basic feature.
