Can Plex stream webcam signal?

Hello,
Time since my last post as all went well until now that I have a new requirement.
I have adopted two cats and wondered if its posible to get the signal of a Logitech usb webcam connected to an iMac streaming on Plex.
The iMac is running Plex server, I don’t know if Plex can stream the camera directly or do I need to put a step in the middle for that…
Any advice wellcome.
Kind regards.

I thought that will be the case. Searching I found a freeware called OBS that I think that can do the job. As it will be a 24h streaming the best format for me, thats included on OVS, will be m3u8? all other formats creates a file that keep increasing in size.
I have started a recording and it creates a .m3u8 file and then .ts files of around 700k each. So now the question if Plex can see that folder and play it. Also I will need to remove old .ts files so the folder dont grow continously. The m3u8 must be keep all time , right?
I see that it also permits sending the signal to ffmpeg for procesing, will that make it easier to connect to Plex?
Sorry but I’m totally lost on live streaming formats.
Thanks trumpy81 for your clarification. Hope you can bring more light on what will be the best approach to it.
