Why not make the Synology accessible remotely so you can manage it when you’re not on your home network?

QNAP cannot update automatically. If you don’t have an always on computer at home this won’t work for you but I personally remote into my desktop at home and when I am on that I can access my QNAP through that.

if you do have an an always on computer at home then something like TeamViewer might work. ( i don’t use that but is a pretty popular app and afaik is free for home use)

I’m fairly sure that Synology provides some applications to help with remote management. I’m not able to look just now, but I suggest going to the Synology knowledge base and looking around there.

Hi Dane! Good to see you :slight_smile: I think that the problem, of making a connection to the NAS, originate from the fact that PMS might have removed (or maybe altered) the portforward i have made on the router. Don’t know how or why, but it is gone; however the plex portforward exist.

Hi Darcilicious! Thanks for the answer. Using quickconnect is the way I log into the NAS, but it makes something NASty when I update PMS. Maybe you can see what happens in the log I provided in my first entry? Kurt
