Thank you. But is there any clear explanation why I can’t have automatic updates for Plex app on QNAP? Is it technically more difficult than auto update any other QNAP app? Plex is the certified QNAP’s app. It’s extremely inconvenient to update it manually.
The problem is multiple…
- All NAS Vendors AppStore is always behind, as well as only handles one version of an app
- Regarding Plex, we have both a public version, as well as a Plex Pass only version
- It’s not possible for Plex to support automatic install on all the different NAS vendors, even if Plex was to release only the public version, since no vendor is alike
