I don’t come around here too often but over the past couple of weeks I have been reading the forums and trying to figure out how to fix the problem that started about a month ago. It seems that other users have brought up this issue, but I’m still not sure how I should go about fixing it (if it’s even something I can do on my end).
Anytime I attempt to play any of the m4v files that contain a DTS soundtrack, they fail to play and eventually loops to a “summary” almost like I watched the entire file. Even when I select the ac3 sound track, it does the exact same thing. The only way I can get it to play is by either turning direct play off or choosing the DTS soundtrack and forcing my server to transcode. If the m4v file doesn’t include a DTS soundtrack option, it will direct play fine. I never had problems with direct play before as long as an ac3 soundtrack was selected. I’m not super familiar with how the troubleshooting process usually works, but I tried to read the FAQ’s.
- I attached my most recent log files.
- I selected the option to send log files from my appleTV to plex for 20 minutes.
