I’m new to Plex and I’ve installed it on a newly purchased flashtor 6 (Jasper Lake) but simply can’t play anything when transcoding is involved, either locally or remotely. I’ve purchase Plex pass and have hardware transcoding turned on. I’m using the official download from app central but I have the same issue via docker install. I’m using two separate drives set up as single RAID devices. Plex is on one and my movies volume is on another. Direct play works fine both locally and remotely.
When I try and play a file and enable any type of transcoding whatsoever. I just get the spinning buffering symbol and not a single frame is played. If I look at my NAS stats, I can see increased cpu and disk usage but no increase in lan usage. Furthermore, if I look at my transcoding folder I see session folders within that and files are being created. But nothing plays either via web app or any client. I’ve tried factory resetting the NAS and fresh installing but no joy.
For what it’s worth Jellyfin is working smoothly and transcoding just fine.
Any ideas. I was really hoping to get the lifetime Plex pass today before the offer expires!
Logs included in the hope they’ll help someone get to the bottom of it.
