Can’t start show being recorded if it's no longer visible in the guide

Tl;dr: I can’t find a way to start a show still being recorded if it’s no longer visible in the guide.

When I record sports, I always pad the end by 30/60 minutes to cover overtime scenarios, etc. I will often not be able to start watching until well into the recording, and I do that is by selecting the show from the guide and choosing watch from the beginning. If I’m already into the padding and the show is no longer visible in the guide, there’s no way to start the recording until after the padding time when it shows up in my library,

Am I missing something? Is there another entry point that would allow me to start the in-progress recording? I thought I might be able to do this from the DVR Schedule page, but that only lets me cancel or modify the recording.

You aren’t missing anything… This is currently a shortcoming of the Plex DVR. There is probably an enhancement request thread somewhere, but I can’t find it right now. This topic does come up fairly regularly, and you definitely aren’t the only one wanting this.

Yes, a long standing problem (years). A huge deficiency when trying to watch sports where you tend to record lots of extra time, assuming you were successfully able to get the sports program into the DVR schedule in the first place …
