For those with large libraries, especially series and shows, it would be nice to have a randomizing button that just plays random episodes from selected libraries/servers. Binge watching just a single show is fun, but also draining and I’d like to emulate broadcast television and have no control over what is being played on my TV.
You can already do that.
There’s the option to hit „Shuffle“ on a library or playlist.
As an alternative, you can create a smart playlist/collection to include specific shows / only episodes not watched in a certain amount of time / not rated with a low number of stars / … (sorted randomly) — if you’re using a collection, you can publish that as a hub to the library’s recommendations or the Home Screen.
I have some old cartoons that I put into a collection called “Cartoons” and my kids will hit shuffle play on the collection and it’s like a Saturday morning in the 80’s with kids watching random cartoons.
