I Understand the UI/UX is being “upgraded”, but can we get the orange wedge for unwatched for individual TV episodes back? if not please let us/me know why it was removed so i can explain it to my wife. She curses up a storm when she can’t easily find what she hasn’t watched… the orange bar at the bottom does nothing for her.
I don’t like that it went missing either. It was a VERY intuitive feature.
there are other concerns i have, but there are plenty of other threads for that… i just want the wedge back for the love of God. please.
thank you.
edit: please note there are aspects that i do like… i like the sleek look.
Are you not seeing the orange wedge? I see it on items that are completely unwatched; the orange progress bar replaces the wedge only if I start watching an item.
The orange triangle is being removed. The idea is that an unwatched item should have a clean poster. Only when watched should it change. So it’s a bit of the reverse of how things are now. This change is happening on all Plex clients, not just the Roku. You may still see the triangle in some spots as not all pages have been updated.
Thanks @anon18523487 ! i’ll explain this to the wife, i understand now at least… I personally don’t mind a small portion taking up an episode frame that was randomly pulled. but what’r gonna do, sounds like the decision has already been made and wasn’t just a gaff.
Plex made great strides to make the clients more accessible for low vision users over the past couple of years. This change is a step backwards.
Can we please make the orange bars thicker so it’s a bit more obvious that an episode is partially or completely watched?
Something different for a fully watched episode would be nice. An orange wedge maybe?
The removal of the Wedge is the largest, most disappointing change thus far. It was part of the character of Plex and the easiest way to identify unplayed items across large fields of content.
Since I spend most of my time actually watching content, I spend very little surfing for it. The Wedge made things easy to spot. If I want a clean poster, I best get to watching that!
And the clean poster argument is moot when it comes to shows, as there’s now a larger more undesired episode number in its place.
agreed… in fact when you go to a season they display a rando image from the episode… like that’s not a poster, it’s just something random, THAT is where the wedge needs to be… my wife can find which EPISODE she hasn’t seen, nuff said.
removing from movie’s to not disrupt the poster I get (i don’t agree with), but removing from individual episodes??? i surely don’t.
I just can’t wait to see what a jumbled mess the Movie library will look like with progress bars and completion bars across the bottom of all the posters of movies I’ve watched…
I prefer the Wedge in this regard, as although it covers a teeny bit of poster, it’s way less intrusive looking across a whole screen. It already looks horrible across a ribbon of episodes in a season of a show.
