Can we PLEASE get a search function that is dynamic?

  1. thanks for building a great platform, as a lifetime subscriber since like 2013, I’m all in!
  2. Can you please for the love of god, create a search function that enables searching the description of movies and tags. Eg I want to see all movies that have sharks in it, or all movies that are around Halloween, or movies that have a dog, and so on…

It’s mental I can only search for movie titles, it makes a false assumption I know what movie I’m looking for. Its 2026! Please can you you build capability to have a better search experience. I’ve got 3k movies and 500+ tv shows.

If you won’t fix it, then please just enable your platform so someone else can build a plug in that solves the clear gap in search capability.

Seems like a good idea I often want to watch xmas films at Xmas the problem may be if you use tags you would have to go to all the films you have 3k and add the tag or in my case 17k in films

And descriptions can be quite vague

I agree descriptions can be vague, and tags is just ongoing maintenance, but it would be start. If I can search google or chatgpt and get a list, I think it totally doable for PLEX integration, even a small LLM locally would likely do the job.

Imho a button, next to the alphabet-layout e.g., to enable this function would be really nice
Most of the time the existing search is better for everyone, but there are many occasions where I miss this feature too
