Can we please get a seperate profile for Tivo hardware? Plex server has used HTML TV profile forever and its just dead wrong for Tivo. It trascodes most everything to aac stereo rather than ac3 5.1. tired of needing to manually edit the xml file every update. Its been wrong for years. Its time it was fixed.

Hi jcthorne, I agree with your assessment of the HTML TV profile. I have the Plex Media Server installed on my PC (Windows10) and my Synology NAS, I was looking to move media files from my PC to the NAS. I noticed the same audio problems on both PC and NAS when using the Plex app on the TiVo, should be 5.1 but is 2.1. I posted my problem on the Facebook TiVo Owners Community group and got a reply from someone with the same problem. He had a solution for the PC problem. It involves editing (as administrator) the “HTML TV App.xml” file changing all audioCodec=“acc” entries to “ac3” and restarting the server. Make a backup copy of the original file. Every time the server software is updated this file is overwritten, you will need to make these changes again. I don’t have a solution for the Synology NAS server, I still need to use my PC for streaming media.
