+1. PLEASE enable this feature. I love my 916+ for everything else. I use pled for all of my digital content. Not having HW transcoding is very frustrating.
Another vote for this.
Quick Sync is fantastic (which is what does the hardware transcoding on Intel-based Synology NAS). If enabled, it should work on the 214Play and the other Intel iGPU enabled machines too.

Yes, please do vote in the QuickSync thread. I’ve seen a couple of NAS threads requesting hardware acceleration on various Intel QuickSync-based platforms. If the votes were combined together, it would send a stronger message to Plex developers.
+1, even mine is DS216+II. Thousands of NAS users would turn to Plex if you give it a go on supporting NAS’s GPU.

@comio linked to threads that covers ALL platforms with regard to HW transcoding. Synology and QNAP owners have their own threads now, too. (This one and one for QNAP.) But, no one is going to get this until it’s ready for most all platforms at the same time, I would guess. (Except the NVidia Shield, which is special in some manner and already has it. Figure that out!) 
Let’s keep the votes for the feature in one thread, so MAYBE the developers get the idea that this is something the community wants. (And not the investors…)
