Can you force custom compilation albums into "compilations"

Real quick background…don’t wanna bore ya.

I have a road case of “Promo Only” DJ discs which are basically various artist compilations. I have ripped them all into a folder, sorted all the tracks by artist, and put all the same artists files into folders to create custom artists compilations (Think greatest hits albums). Given them custom album titles and have uploaded one to my server to see how it goes. Works, but under the artist page plexamp lists it as an album, not as a compilation. Example: my custom compilation by “A Perfect Circle” is under “Albums” on the artist page, while “Aerosmith’s Greatest Hits” is under compilations on their artist page. I can live with this, but would prefer to put my custom comps, under compilation. Is there a way to force this? or does plexamp get it’s info from elsewhere and it is what it is?

If you have the checkbox “prefer local metatags” ticked, you can set a RELEASETYPE meta tag in your files.
If you don’t have that checkbox ticked, you cannot override the default releasetype.
