Can you help me on HW Transcoding?

Server Version#: Latest
Player Version#: Latest

Hello,
I try to use HW transcoding, but no luck sadly.

My linux version is headless Debian 11, cpu i5 12500.
Hardware transcoding is already opened in transcoding settings.

I already tried adding lines to Preference.xml for qsv, not working.

Thanks

  1. You don’t need to add anything to Preferences.xml for QSV support.
If you’ve added something – remove it.

  2. can you make certain DEBUG logging is enabled (SAVE if you make changes)

  3. Attempt a transcode of content then stop

  4. Download the logs ZIP file

  5. Attach here

  6. I’ll look and see what’s going on.

  1. I was added “HardwareDevicePath=”/dev/dri/renderD128" " this line, deleted right now.

  2. Adding attached logs, Plex Transcoder Statistics.log is the latest one for transcoding. (I hope there is no info shared in logs about server)

Your logs show me that there is nothing being seen.

This is a big problem because the i5-12500 (AlderLake) is supported.

I am busy (personal life) today. I will be able to look further at this tonight when I return.

Thank you man. I am waiting a response from you

Today, Engineering released a whole bunch of fixes in PlexPass release.

Have you had opportunity to try it?

Seems there is no update for server ? 1.31.1.6733

Does your bios have the gpu disabled?

there is something seriously wrong.

It’s not an AlderLake problem. If it were then everyone would complain.

The only thing I can think of to try iss:

  1. Stop Plex

  2. cd “/var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Drivers”

  3. If you don’t have a ‘Drivers’ directory then PMS has NEVER detected the GPU. That’s a problem with the computer config (BIOS)

  4. If you do have ‘Drivers’, then delete everything in there (let’s start over)

  5. Please let me know what happens. (I wish I could help you more but timezones are working against us. I’d offer to arrange 1-1 for this)

There is only /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/ , no Plex Media Server and no Drivers section.

It would be better If you can take a look from putty, because if I write this command i see my gpu is in.

thank you very much

did you forget me ? :frowning:

No, not forgotten. Busy? YES.

If you have no “Application Support/Plex Media Server” directory
then Plex isn’t starting up --OR-- the PLEX_MEDIA_APPLICATION_SUPPORT_DIR was moved.

Did you customize it?

Nope, I did not, would you like to check my server ?

I think I might need to. Do you have teamviewer ?

I can give you ip and pass directly to my server, no problem

I will send you a PM. We can discuss further in Private.

thank you very much
