I installed PMS on Ubuntu 21.04 on 500GB SSD. As the /home directory is on another disk (HDD), I preferred to create the Movies and TV Shows directories on that same disk/partition.
Unfortunately, PMS is unable to access the Movies and TV Shows directories. I’ve already researched it in several places, but I still haven’t been able to solve this problem.
Sounds like a bad mount or a permission issue. Keep in mind: you have access to the media in your /home directory… the plex account used by the Plex Media Server hasn’t.
I’ve already tested several permissions for directories, users and groups that have some relationship with the PMS. And unfortunately, nothing worked.
I managed to solve the problem!
It was a permission issue as you said. Now it remains to figure out how to allow only PMS access to specific directories. PMS is allowed access to the entire /home directory.
