I have a brand new NAS and installed Plex on my mycloudex2ultra and added my movies but I have got a few files inside the folder mp4 files and plex dont add them to the database.
AVI and MKV work. Can anyone help me to find my mistake please?
Make sure the files and folders are named properly.

If they are, then make sure you don’t have any embedded metadata in the files.
Plex overlooks metadata in .mkv files but not .mp4
That can cause Plex to misidentify or not recognize the file at all.
Right click the file inside the folder and click details and see if there’s anything in there that looks unusual in the title field in the top of the box.
thank you Jays for replay so I have to convert my mp4 files because the rest work fine with plex.
Provide more details about your files, how they are named, and what type of library you are adding them to. plenty of folks use MP4s without issue.
I have now convert now from mp4 to mkv all files. the “movies” folder and dont knwo why 7 files are not shown from plex. I cannot tell you the files that are missing because of so many files.
i have taken adding media folder and with movies and the source is the nas.
Can I send you logfiles or anything via mail?
