Cannot add plex server to account

Server Version#: 1.42.2.10156-f737b826c
Player Version#:

Hi, few days ago, my plex server went offline. I had not seen something in the logs that tells me that the service is not work properly so I did erase the server from the account and tried to claim it.

When going to the server by the IP with the 32400 port, I see that the server is not authorized with a link for a documentation about the subject. I did stop service, erase the “Preferences.xml” file and start service again but unfortunately no success, the server just not appear under the settings. I’ve tried with mutiple browser to identify the cause and I don’t have any better results.

Since, I did validate the firewall (which is not running), opened TCP UDP ports, services logs and everything is working good. So I decided to build another server with another linux distribution and just migrate the content to the new one. Well, I have the same results. I am able to access the server with the IP & 32400 port but the server does not appear in my account. Something, when fiddling with private mode in the browser, I can get that the server is not authorized …

Please help !

Does your server have a desktop environment installed? If so, open a browser on the server’s desktop (a private/incognito tab) and navigate to:
http://127.0.0.1:32400/web (Note the http)

Since the server isn’t claimed, it should ask you to sign into your Plex account (by redirecting to app.plex.tv) and then take you back to setup on the localhost address.

If you don’t have a desktop on the server, you will likely need to follow the instructions in the “On a Different Network” section of this support document (SSH tunnel):
https://support.plex.tv/articles/200288586-installation/#toc-2

If that doesn’t work for some reason, I suspect that @ChuckPa will be around soon to offer his claim script for Linux-based servers.
