Cannot cast from Phone to PC on the same network

With my old phone I could cast from it to my PC without any problems and use the phone as a “remote”. With my new phone it doesn’t work. Both the PC and the phone cannot detect each other, e.g. when I press cast on one of them, the other doesn’t show up in the list. As the problem is there both ways, I doubt it has to do with the new phone (Samsung A52s 5G), but I can’t exclude it completely.

Also, casting to other devices, like my TV, works.

Casting to Plex for Windows was removed in version 1.46 (announcement).

It was also removed from Plex Web in v4.83.2 (announcement).

Plex recommends using Plex HTPC instead (download).

Why was it removed? Also why is the option still there, and why does the website still talk about it?
