Cannot claim server

Greetings,

I currently have a VPS with PMS installed and all of a sudden it stop working. I have some configurations already and it doesnt show them.

Recently I use putty to ssh to my VPS and then typed on the browser localhost:32400/web/index.html and it access my Plex service, and it shows my categories pins, and then when I go to my server settings, I can see the option to claim server (images attached):

When I hit the button to claim server it stays like it’s thinking for a while and then it stops and nothing happens.

Is there other way to claim my server and recover my config, or at least claim the server.

Hope someone can guide me to solve this issue.

Thanks.

Before embarking on this:

  1. make a tar.gz of the “Logs” directory in PMS.
  2. you can post them here for me to check if you wish.
  3. You’re looking for the obvious DNS lookup errors (Error code 6) and Permission denied (error code 13) errors.

Plex can’t claim for two reasons: 1. No communication with Plex.tv and 2. Can’t write the new credentials to Preferences.xml.

In conjunction with this, since the host is remote, you need a proper SSH tunnel. Be certain that is properly established.

We recommend port 8888 for the local port and 8888:127.0.0.1:32400 as the report port specification.

Thanks for the information provided. Attached will be the logs in the format specified and let me check the tips you posted. In case I need more help, I will let you know.

Thanks for your time.

Logs look good.

They are showing me what I think the How-TO will help you resolve.

If not, there is a next-step.

Ok, tried the steps you provide several times but still the same, it doesn’t do anything to claim the server.

Did you get a “failed to save settings” or similar gui errors?

Quickly grab another log set if you would please?

No, just that when I click the Claim Server button it starts thinking for a while and then nothing happens and it doesn’t let me continue.

ok. same thing. Grab another log set please. I know what to look for now.
