Cannot Play Movies - Error Code s10001 (Network)

I am very new to all this, but can access but unable to play any of my movies. I get an error code s10001 (Network) no matter where I try to access. Appreciate any assistance.

1.How new? days, weeks months
2.Accessing from where? Server or app
3.what type of server do you have? Windows linux, NAS

  1. Week trying it out but signed up a couple months.

  2. On laptop using app. Same with tv and android phone.

  3. Unsure. Using laptop with Windows 10

So the server is running on a laptop. So where are the files located? And can you see the list of movies on the Plex server?

Yes, can see everything. Files reside on an external hd

I am getting the same error today and have not previously encountered this error. For me it is not happening with all movies, but most. I cannot detect a pattern in the movies having an issue.

  • Movies are on a NAS (Synology)
  • Server is a Mac Mini running the latest update (OS and Plex)
  • Error occurs regardless of client including the web interface for the server
  • Haven’t used it for a while so cannot say when it started
  • No issues if I navigate directly to the movie and play using VLC or other
