Cannot remove Netflix as a Streaming Service

In Account Settings | Streaming Services an administrator can select the streaming services that they utilize; this is used for displaying media in the Watchlist that is available for download. One of the services that can be selected is Netflix (because, of course it is!). I am aware of no issue with adding Netflix as a streaming service. However, it appears that it is impossible to remove it.

The first screen shot shows my current streaming services, each with a checkbox to their right. However, clicking the Netflix entry (or its checkbox) does not deselect Netflix: instead it opens a submenu, as shown in the second screen shot. This menu has two options, chosen using radio buttons. The user can select one item, or the other, but cannot turn off both radio buttons.

Some UI mechanism needs to exist to allow Netflix to be deselected as a streaming service. Interestingly, while Amazon Prime has multiple sub-choices available, those sub-choices are selectable with checkboxes which, of course, would allow them to be all deselected. This approach would seemingly be appropriate for the Netflix entry. The UI for deselecting Amazon Prime as a streaming solution is shown below:

FWIW, the radio button approach used for Netflix may also be used elsewhere in the streaming services UI. If so, the same problem would exist for those services as well.

Hey WhamboMPS,

Try clicking on the active radio button.

Have you tried the same with the hosted web app? Favorite streaming services are an account-level setting and are therefore the same across different client types, if they are signed into the same plex.tv user account.

@WhamboMPS What device are you observing this issue on? You have this post tagged for android-tv but you’re showing the Web (app.plex.tv) selection screen.

For extra context on the buttons. The multi select boxes are there for services where you could have access to multiple sub-services from the parent service. Like in your example above, you may have access to multiple streaming services through your Amazon account (affiliate services). In the case of the radio buttons, this signifies that you can only choose one choice from the sub list. For Netflix, you would only have access to Netflix or Netflix Kids, not both.

While checking out your claim, I have not been able to reproduce the issue. Selecting the already “selected” radio button removes the selection.

Hello @Atomatth,

I appreciate getting a reply back from a Plex employee and was additionally pleasantly surprised by how quickly your response came. However, it appears that this was a nothingburger: I presumed that clicking on a radio button would have no effect but, in fact, it does turn off the selection, just as would be desired. Chalk this down to user error. I apologize for spinning you up for a non-issue.

@OttoKerner and @thenextbutton, thank you each as well for attempting to assist me with this phantom.
