Cannot resume playback on some videos

Hi,

I’m having issues with resuming some of video files. Everything works fine while I’m using iOS app, but on the LG tv or in a Web Browser (Firefox), when I try to resume video it shows only loading screen. I don’t have any issues with playing same videos from the beginning. Sometimes I can start video and move to the desired part of the video, but in most cases it doesn’t work either. For some reason everything works smoothly on iOS app, and I can resume and FF the same video file to the desired position without any issues.
What logs should I look for? I’ve tried to look in logs but didn’t found any interesting that might help me.

I’ll appreciate any help. Thank you.

if it was just on android i would say look here which was fixed in a beta release. but sounds like you have firefox issues as well…

Always worth a try is to

  • ensure the file has less than 30 streams in total in it (i.e. video + audio(s) + subtitles)
  • remux the file into MKV, particularly if it originally is in AVI or mp4

You can use MKVtoolnixGUI to tackle both issues.

Thank you for the option, but unfortunately remuxing many files is rather not an option for me. I believe I don’t even have any files that have close to 7 streams in them, and most probably have about 2-3.
One of the problematic video has:

  • AAC 5.1 audio
  • HEVC/H.265/MPEG-H video
  • some global tagging
    Video is 1080p as for the resolution part and - indeed - have MP4 extension. Nothing that difficult to process. How is that it works on iOS, but not in other players?

How about trying with one file, to rule out one possible source of problems?
