Cannot watch live TV on Plex server PC

Why do I not have a button to watch live TV on my Plex server PC. I have a hauppage internal dual tuner card. It records fine, but I can’t watch live tv.

what client are you using?
There is very limited support for live tv on the client side:

Alternatively you can use this plugin until your client is officially supported:

I can watch on my devices. So my Plex server PC will not allow me to watch live TV? So why would I want to pay the extra for the Plex pass?

Did you review the FAQ pages or read any of the other many, many posts about live TV and the supported clients? Plex has plans to bring live TV support to as many clients as possible, but it takes time.

@mcomdiesel Plex is really designed as a client/server model which grew out of the HTPC homebrew world where it was found that most people don’t really want a giant loud PC or any PC for that matter in front of their TV in their livingroom so the client/server model was born which allowed users to hide their main rig and just have small cheap clients distributed.

This model may not work for all users but in all reality you can get a super cheap plex client to connect to your TV that does support Live TV.

And I pay for the plex pass so I can use the premium features such as Sync, DVR, Cloud, The App for free on my devices.

If you use a silicondust tuner, use this plex channel for your home users for live TV for the time being. This channel will run on the same plex server install as the new plex DVR:

Grant each home user access to the newly created channel section.
Boooya Live tv for your home users, web client and roku if you have one!
