I run my Plex Media Server on Windows. I have no option for live tv, only DVR Beta. Are you saying because I am on Windows, I can’t view live TV anywhere? it is not available on my Android phone. It really feels like a miss that I can’t even watch it via your website…or Xbox for that matter.

If you have a SiliconDust tuner, you could use this until Plex get’s Live TV propagated:

@jamesbernstrom - what version of the server software are you running?

You cannot currently watch live TV on any devices other than the ones listed already being

  • Android TV
  • Android Mobile
  • Apple TV
  • iOS

At present the only feature available to you on your PC is to schedule recordings, and watch recordings and this is available via the web interface at HTTP://[SERVERIP]:32400/web/index.html

Even this is hit or miss. Mostly miss!

You can’t watch live TV with Plex on Windows but the 3 people that have Apple TV can.

Seriously? You have to install the server on a PC (almost exclusively Windows based, sorry Mac folks, but its true) but live TV isn’t supported on Windows (PC, Xbox, Mobile) apps? That’s just stupid.

Ha!!! Funny, I use a Mac Mini for a server and use ATV4s and the two above this post rag in those products.
Perhaps if you used something other than Winblows products you would have Live TV also.

Maybe you haven’t read the blog posts or the numerous Live TV threads, so I’ll summarize. Plex prioritized the clients to get Live TV. The first two were iOS and Android TV clients. After that, Android mobile and ATV got it. They are rolling it out to more clients, but they haven’t released a schedule. I assume some clients are easier to work with than others, and some clients are more popular than others, hence their approach.
