Can't Access PMS When Internet is Offline

Server Version#: 1.40.4.8679

When I lose internet connection (happens too often), when I try to open the PMS on the Mac it’s installed on, I can’t access the PMS or settings. I have already enabled DNLA and added the proper mask for in the “List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth”. Furthermore, Plex apps like on Roku TVs or laptops or iPhones which are on the same wifi network (or lan) can’t see the server either. I believe I should be able to use Plex within my own home even if I lose internet. An help appreciated.

Have you set the IP address in the manual connection part of the advanced settings in the clients?

Hi,
please read the following Link. I believe your Roku is not supported, could be wrong. You could set up a Mobile Hotspot to circumvent the issue.

Yes I have.

Thanks for the reply but this has nothing to do with it. I can’t even open the server itself on the very iMac it’s installed on.

Then you probably have a corrupt database

How do I determine that? How do I fix that? And this only happens when my internet is down.

Luckily a Plex Team Member has created a Tool to Fix just that.

I have used it and it is very effective, it can speed up, repair, prune any built up duplication and cache.

Follow the Read Me file, it is well maintained, updated and works on a Mac

Cheers

Is this for only windows PMS? I have a Mac.

Hi, it covers a lot of OS.

Cheers
