I have spent hours trying to add my music to my new plex server. I have followed the recommended naming conventions and added the folder but nothing has showed up

Are you checking the outcome using the web app?
Do not try and use the new mobile Plex app. It has no support for music libraries.

Ditto. My last successful attempt to add music to my Plex library was three weeks ago. After several years and over 25K tracks, Plex randomly stopped with the message: “Your changes could not be saved.” Is there an identifiable limit to size, or this yet another bug to be dealt with at some future time?
This message suggests that you edited your library. That’s not how you add new media – except when you need to add another hard drive as storage location.
Never add individual albums or artists by adding their folders in the “Add Folders” tab, in the properties of your library.

In the event that there are new artists or albums inside, trigger “Scan Library Folders”.
