I just installed the Plex Media Server and I’m about to give up. I just want to add a Library to play local media but I’m always getting the error on the title. No matter what folder I choose. My Firewall isn’t blocking it either. Would anybody know how to fix this?
Thank you for your response. The Plex account did have access to the files in it but it still wouldn’t let me. Stopping and restarting the server worked (If closing it, quitting and booting it up does that) seemed to work. I just came back and added the Library normally without any problems.
This seemed to have worked, thank you. I don’t know if I actually did Stop and restart the server. All I did was close the Chrome tab, restarted my PC, came back after 10 or some hours, booted the app and opened the server. After that, it just let me add the Library without any problem. Is that the correct way to restart the server or is there another way to do it?
Plex does this when it gets busy. Annoying, but not fatal. There’s a trick I’ve found that doesn’t require stopping/starting — when it tells you it can’t save the changes, click again. Then a third time if it repeats.
90% of the time this does the trick. 5% of the time you get duplicate libraries…annoying to remove. The other 5%…either keep clicking save, or take a break.
