I’ve been running Plex for several years, most recently on Unraid, and have never encountered this problem before.
I added a new movie, which went fine and I can watch it no problem. I then went to add it to a collection and got this message, “Your changes could not be saved.” It appears next to the Cancel button on the edit page.
After scouring the forums and the internet, I went through all the DB repair steps here, including the dump and import, but the problem persists.
There are no messages in the log about corruption. The only error message for this is:
Aug 04, 2023 21:01:15.724 [23022799166264] ERROR - [Req#ea] Exception inside transaction (inside=1) (/data/jenkins/server/3532787937/Library/LibrarySectionPutAll.cpp:845): bad lexical cast: source type value could not be interpreted as target
Aug 04, 2023 21:01:15.724 [23022799166264] ERROR - Got exception from request handler: bad lexical cast: source type value could not be interpreted as target
Searching on that error just seemed to point me back to fixing a corrupt database, which is not the problem.
Anyone have any suggestions for next steps in trying to fix this?
Rollback to 1.32.4.7195-7c8f9d3b6 fixed it immediately. I run the official docker image and was using the latest tag. I’ve never had to rollback before so it didn’t even occur to me. Thank you!
That’s great to hear. Only thing is how do we get Plex to fix this issue. No one is acknowledging that this is an issue that needs to be fixed and rolling back is not a permanent solution
