Unable to add movies to collections after recent update

Server Version#: 1.32.5.7349
Player Version#: N/A

Since updating to 1.32.5.x on a Synology DS1621xs+ running DSM 7.2-64570, I am now unable to add movies to existing collections or create new ones. I do not remember whether I had updated Plex to 1.32.4.x or if I jumped patch updates, so the issue may have existed earlier. It is also worth mentioning that TV collections work just fine.

When attempting to add a movie to a collection or create a new one in the Edit Tags GUI, the Save Changes button does not show progress indication for long before a message stating “Your changes could not be saved.” is shown to the left of the two buttons.

Not sure whether I can safely back up to a previous version. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Here’s the specific error when logs are set to debug. I was attempting to create a tag called “Poltergeist” by adding it directly to the 1982 movie in my library. I cleared the logs several times thinking someone else was accessing my server in the middle of replicating the attempted update, but I believe these same logs appear every attempt (even though some of the output looks unrelated).

As @JaysPlex mentioned, it appears to be the same issue that someone else mentioned for server-raid (and another mentioned for server-windows in the replies). Perhaps this is in the latest Plex versions across the board. Just let me know if this topic is a duplicate and we can close it.

I attempted to roll back versions and it looks like DSM blocks going to previous versions through their “Manual Install” UX. Not sure whether there’s a workaround, but I might just have to wait for the next release.

DSM blocks direct downgrade.

To downgrade –

1. Uninstall Only. (KEEP option)
2. Install desired version
3. Allow extra time for PMS to adjust the database

This is the exact same issue we have all been having. As that other person said, I found that reverting does fix the issue. Waiting for Plex to step in here and investigate the issue that has been happening for over a month now. Reverting is not a permanent solution obviously

Issue with modifying collections for 1 library

Is anyone able to at least direct me to someone from Plex that could possibly look into this issue. I have done all of the DB repair steps and none of them fix this issue on the latest version of Plex. Just to reiterate the issue: On the latest version of Plex, when trying to add or modify collections only on my TV Show library I get the error “your changes could not be saved” and the log error of “Got exception from request handler: bad lexical cast: source type value could not be interpreted…

Windows is not my forte (I don’t have a Windows VM) From the excerpt you posted above, there isn’t enough detail to see what’s failing. “Bad lexical cast” itself is meaningless but does point to some other problem. Please enable DEBUG logging and recreate then download & attach the ZIP logs. DEBUG logging will let me see what it doesn’t like.

Like the other guy said unfortunately I am on windows so I guess this fell through the cracks. Not trying to complain just really want to get to a solution as I am a longtime Plex pass user.
