Cast? Are you referring to opening the app on your phone and casting it to your PS4 or just playing a video on the PS4?

I have had a similar problem, I can cast to my PS4 using iPad from a server on a different computer. I have control over my PS4 using my iPad for a random amount of time generally not more than 30 minutes, then the PS4 disappears from m the available players on the iPad to cast to. I have found that if I sign out and back in again on the PS4 then it appears again on my iPad but it doesn’t last.
