Can't claim server and tried but can't install PMS "Something went wrong. Please install manually"

Plex has been playing up for a couple of weeks.
I spotted there was an update available and downloaded it but then got the message that “Something went wrong. Please install manually”.
Also got the message saying there’s an unclaimed server but the “click to claim server” does nothing.
I’ve had a mooch through the posts on here and tried all sorts of stuff that’s beyond my comfort zone (DNS allocation, deleting reg keys etc) and tried installing previous versions but the same messages keep appearing.
Help please!
