Server Version#: 1.13.8.5395
A couple of days ago, I stopped being able to use Plex. I’ve tried uninstalling (including removing registry and folders) and reinstalling as per the message, but this hasn’t fixed things.
When I visit http://127.0.0.1:32400/web there is an orange bar at the top that says
- An unclaimed media server has been found on your network. Claim it now
When I click on Claim it now, it goes into the settings page, and displays:
- This server is unclaimed and not secure
- Claiming this server will associate it with your Plex account.
- This helps your devices find each other and helps keep your media safe.
-
Version 1.13.8.5395 Something went wrong. Please install manually.
When I click on the [Claim Server] button, I have a loading swirl for a couple seconds, then the button returns, nothing appears on to have changed.
When I click on the [Please reinstall manually] link, it takes me to the download page, which I have downloaded, and have used in the uninstall/reinstall sequence
When I try to watch any content, I get the error message:
- Playback Error
- Conversion failed. A required codec could not be found or failed to install.
When I click on my icon top right, and then select Sign Out, then close and reopen my browser, and go to http://127.0.0.1:32400/web it continues to show the contents of the server. If I click on the top right icon, it lists Sign In as one of the options (as opposed to Sign Out).
When I visit http://127.0.0.1:32400/web and ensure I am signed in, I then visit https://app.plex.tv/desktop but it says Looking for servers, and a main screen message:
- To get started streaming your media everywhere, download and install Plex Media Server on the computer or device where you keep your media.
(clicking the link returns me to the top of the steps performed, which is installing the server)
