Can't delete library

Server Version#:1.28.0
Player Version#:?
running MacBook Air - Monterey 12.2.1

I also can’t get Plex to stop scanning a library. When I try to delete a library, I check the box and hit delete but nothing happens. I tried to start over by deleting Plex in my apps and emptying the trash. DL’d the Plex Media App and when I run it, same thing. It still remembers my old libraries. Any suggestions? Thanks

When deleting a library it can take the server quite a long time (5-10 minutes) depending on the size of your library. What is your goal here?

My goal is to have Plex stop scanning! After hours of scanning and hours of waiting for the library to delete, I have given up. I’d like to start over with no libraries.

You can follow the instructions in this link

If you don’t feel comfortable doing that you can use a 3rd party software uninstaller that deletes all the registry keys automatically. I use Revo uninstaller

After you do that, a new install will actually be new and all your old info will be gone

We highly recommend you avoid using such tools, it can cause more problems than it solves.

Firstly make sure you have disabled “Scan my library automatically” in Settings → Library. Then stop the server and start it again.

Then remove the libraries.

Some people are going to read that support article and just walk away from the computer in disgust. Not everybody has the same propensity to start digging around in the registry. (and shoudn’t)

I’m not suggesting he do anything, just giving him the option. He might be able to save things if he follows your instructions

But, there should be 2 options during an uninstall.
