I don’t want an auto-populating “Up Next”. It’s never right about what I want to listen to next.
I can clear “Up Next” manually, but when I choose a track the next time, Plexamp uses some algorithm to re-populate it (it might be as simple as adding the other songs in the folder, I haven’t scrutinized it closely).
I have disabled autoplay in the Settings-Playback-Autoplay option.
If I want to listen to a playlist, I will create one.
I do not want a workaround, like creating a playlist with one song.
I would like the default behavior to be if I choose a solitary track, to just let me play it and then be done (unless I repeat it) without Plexamp subsequently creating the uncontrollable “Up Next” playlist for me.
Ah well, that’s a terrible bit of UI, first to presume that I want something to keep playing, and second, that somehow Plex’s algorithm would know what I want to listen to.
PlexAmp isn’t like Pandora or Spotify, I’m playing specific media I own. Even some streaming apps, e.g. Youtube Music, allow you to play a single track and then stop, if that’s what you elect.
At a minimum, there should be an option to stop after playing a track, like a sleep timer, but without needing to know the duration.
You can use Play Next from the context menu of each album / song – this will only add that particular item to the play queue (no playlists involved).
if you click the text of the now playing item, this should bring up a context menu from which you can schedule a sleep timer w/ various options – check it out.
