There does not seem to be an option to download a whole playlist in Plexamp. I have a playlist that I use for driving in the car that is ~1000 songs, and the most I can download is “24 Hours” which comes out to a little over 700 songs. Regular Plex has the ability to just pin/download an entire playlist of music no matter how big, it would be nice if Plexamp could do the same. Not sure why there needs to be a limit?
The limit was put in place for performance reasons. Behind the scenes, the system that keeps track of downloaded items in a list can become sluggish when a certain threshold is reached. The 24 hour limit was implemented to prevent that.
I can’t speak for timeframes or with any certainty, but I think it’s something the developers want to look at improving in future. For now though, you can use the “refresh” feature on your downloaded playlists to get a fresh set of tracks when the downloaded set starts to seem stale. Additionally, with Plexamp 3.1.1 for Workgroups, refresh should happen behind the scenes automatically.
If you’d like, I’d even recommend creating a smart playlist with a filter along the lines of “Not listened to in 14 days” or similar, that way you can always have a fresh list
Thanks for the response. While this is a little disappointing, I’ll take this opportunity to make some smart playlists I guess. Hopefully they add the functionality in the future at some point.
