Unable to Download Entire Playlist on Plexamp

Server Version#: 1.41.5.9522
Player Version#: 4.12.0

I recently switched to Plexamp from the regular Plex app as it no long plays music.

I have a ton of smart playlists I’ve set up via the desktop web app (e.g. track rating > 3, etc). When I download them via the Plexamp Android app, only the first hour or so is downloaded. How do I download the entire playlist? Long clicking the playlist name does not give me an option to decide how to download.

My playlist are typically a few hours long each, so nothing crazy

Click on Download on your Smart Playlist and you should get a popup window. The current limit is 72 hours of music or audio in each playlist, but you can adjust it using the slider shown below.

EDIT: For cautionary sake, make sure you go to into the Downloads tab under :gear: Settings and TURN ON Complete Downloads, as shown in the 2nd image. The playlist may have not completely downloaded.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I have Completed Downloads turned on.

Also I’m not shown the dialog to select how much to download, it just downloads it. If I try to download again, it just says Already Downloaded. Refreshing the download also does not download more of the playlist.

You can see in the screen shots that my playlist is a bit over 2hrs, but only 1hr is ever downloaded, so nowhere near the 72hr limit.

Hi, any idea why this is happening and how it can be fixed? It breaks my most common use case for Plex

I found out how!

  1. First you want to download the playlist you want (I recommend removing it from your device first if you already have it on there).
  2. Next, go to the download page and either press and hold or right click (depending on your platform)
  3. Then click edit and set the length to the minimum. (I have found that just setting it to max does nothing so you will need to follow the next steps as well)
  4. Open that sub-menu again and hit refresh and wait for it to download.
  5. Next you will want to repeat these steps 3 and 4 again except set it to the length that you want instead of the minimum.

I am not sure why this works and why it has to be this way to work, but I have found it to work so far.

Awesome, thanks @Cybercatblues , I gave that a try and it looks like it works!!
