Apologies in advance, I’m pretty new to Linux, but have been pulling my hair out for weeks trying to fix this.
PMS cannot view my files to add to library until I change the file permissions to 0777.
I’m using Deluge, and it sets them to 0750 by default. I’ve got the files mounted on a USB HDD, but have also tried on the internal drive. The files belong to group deluge, which user plex is a member of, so it should have rx permissions, so enough to add the files to library, right?
I’ve tried adjusting the umask in systemd for deluged and deluge-web.service to 000 to make the file permissions 0777, but it’s still making them 0750.
I’ve tried manually changing some files to make the plex user the owner, but it still doesn’t pick it up, also tried 0755. The only way is to change to 0777.
There’s probably a really simple answer to this, but I’ve been searching for ages!
Hi there, I am having the same problem, which service file do you mean to add the UMask=0022 to?
I have hard drives in my microserver that are mounted on start up. I can access the drives from other PCs on my network, makes changes, etc, but when I try to add them to Plex, Plex cannot access them, only the top level folder ie /media/f1nchy/Movies, not any folders or files within that, so nothing adds to the library.
Also, since you have your media under /media/your-username this means the automounter is active. Plex will be excluded regardless what you do. You must manually specify a mount point
