I am really new to this , only installed a couple of hours ago. Had no problems with my movies , TV shows were a bit hit n miss as it recognised some but not others, I also had to merge seasons in a couple but I got there.
The thing that is really bugging me tho is I created a new library for a stand up comedy section and I have accidentally deleted all the Billy Connolly vids, when I try to upload them again it just doesn’t seem to recognise them now and I cant get them back on at all.
I looked around online and I have tried emptying the trash, updating the library and cleaned bundles, still no Billy Connolly, I even tried changing the name of the file folder slightly but that didn’t work, neither did uploading each show individually. I didn’t move the folder as I saw on some forum , but as my file source location is on a portable drive and I unplugged it I thought that should cover the part were it says to move to a location plex doesn’t monitor .
Pleas can someone help? I’m pulling my hair out with this one lol.
Whichever one populates the data, that’s the type of library you want to build. For thetvdb, you want to build a TV Library, and you want to name them “Showname\Season Num\Showname - S01E01.ext”
If they’re present on The MovieDB the setup the library as a movie library and name them individually with the name of the set and the year. Once they’re in here, you can add them to a collection if you want by tagging them with Billy Connolly int he collection field
I had the Billy Connolly ones already showing in my library. I deleted them after trying to merge them when I wasn’t happy with how that turned out (it basically put one pic for all of the different shows and named everything the same rather than having them all separate shows but within one folder) , I now cant get any of them back again.
On that themoviedb.com they are showing as movies, I just tried creating a new library as a film one and when I tried to add Billy Connolly it still wont upload it to plex?
Ok, but you have files for the movies/shows still, right? Look in your folders in Windows… see if the files are inside the folders they were originally… If not, it means plex deleted them when you deleted them, and you will need to reacquire them…
Ouch !!! yeh thanks, SOB, I thought it was just deleting stuff from the plex interface and as the main folders are all still there I never even thought to look inside them. Dam thats hours of downloading that might not even be available anymore, a tough lesson indeed.
