Can't login into Plex server using a different ID on Apple TV only

For years, my wife and I have watched Apple TV from our bedroom TV using the original Plex ID I installed under. Som we both see the same Plex menus and status of programs, such as “continue watching”.

Our tastes have changed and I now want to separate what she watches, apart from what I watch, along with their status.

I’ve added under friends a new userid and when I start up Plex on any Apple TV and select “switch user”, or log out and try to login with that new user ID, the only thing I can see and use on Apple TV’s is the original userid I installed everything under?

If I use Plex from my computer, I’m able to logout and then login is using the new user ID and all the menus and status are reset and appear just for thus new user, which is what I want.

Why does this same thing not work for Apple TV’s 4k latest generation as well?

Am I missing something simple?

For fast user switching to work, you need to add your wife’s Plex Account to your „Plex Home“

I just had a similar experience. I reset my Apple TV 4K 2021 device. When asked to sign in with my iPhone my server was not authorized. I had to sign in with my email.
The Apple TV is only one month old and I have never used any other login.

Just curious…
