Hi,
Basically, I can’t match TV shows. Looking in the log, I see a lot of this: 2016-08-17 16:05:10,018 (80f0db000) : DEBUG (networking:166) - Requesting 'https://tvdb2.plex.tv/series/[ID REMOVED]' 2016-08-17 16:06:10,136 (80f0db000) : INFO (__init__:179) - Content Error (<urlopen error The read operation timed out>)
If I try to go to that URL in my browser, it also times out (with a 504), and I cannot ping the server. The ping seems to redirect to proxy00.spop.ams.plex.bz, which interestingly isn’t pingable but can be reached in my web browser.
Seems like it’s just that the server has gone down so hopefully someone on the plex team sees this and can work their magic to bring it back up.
Realise there’s another topic on this but it’s old and marked as “answered” so may not get looked at again, plus I believe the issues reported in there are different to the ones here.
Awesome - same here :-/
I also get an error while directly searching on tvdb website - i get results but an Ajax Error displayed before always… Hope this gets fixed soon!

I think the AJAX error is unrelated as I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it before when it was working. Also, I’m not 100% sure on this, but the fact that the URL it’s trying to connect to is .plex.tv implies that it’s communicating with a cached copy of thetvdb stored on Plex’s own servers so this is likely an issue for the Plex team.
Either way, always good to know that you’re not the only one with an issue!
It appears to be down again. Getting some very intermittent responses from the server.
UPDATE: So it appears that when tvdb2.plex.tv resolves to 82.94.168.7 it now works, but when it resolves to 82.94.168.9 it fails. Kind of annoying if your TVDB agent is having issues resolving hostnames and you have to manually edit the hosts file…
All seems down again now… what’s happened to these servers? This renders Plex pretty much useless for any new users and it’s pretty annoying for existing users.
I’m sure the Plex team are aware of the issue but it would be good to get some official acknowledgement and maybe a “the issue is X and we’re working on it”
