Plex can't match series, getting 403 forbidden for https://tvdb2.plex.tv/series/<id>

Hello,

i run plex on my ZyXEL NAS540. Since a few days, or weeks i cant match any series, movies are working. i updated the version 1.0.0 to 1.1.4 a few minutes age, but it doens’t help.
I always get a 403 Forbidden on the first tries and at least i get a 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable. Have anybody an idea what goes wrong?

Getting the same thing here. Exact same errors in the logs. Was working two days ago, added something to the library today and couldnt get a match.

Can confirm, tvdb2.plex.tv is still down :frowning:

Same here. Updated Plex Media Server this morning. Afterwards, I wasn’t able to match any series anymore. Don’t know if this is related or just a general server issue at tvdb2.plex.tv.

It would seem the problem is coming from thetvdb.com, which is unreachable. People are talking about this on Twitter: https://twitter.com/search?q=%40thetvdb

If you manually try to reach any of the request URL’s you’ll see a 403: forbidden.

The IP plex.tv uses has been banned upstream.

TheTVdb is back online.

The Cloudflare error is new: I guess Plex is hard on their servers so they blacklisted them… let’s hope it’s only temporary.

EDIT: Plex just acknowledged the issue:

We are currently experiencing connectivity issues with TheTVDB for our metadata servers. This will result in problems retrieving TV metadata for the majority of users. We’re actively working to resolve things and expect to see improvements throughout the day.
