The problem is simple Whenever I start plex on my server and go to the tray to see open apps it is there, but when I love my mouse towards it closes. The only thing I can recall changing was the name of the PC, do any of you think that could be the problem? (can’t remember the original name to change it back) This problem has only started now and has worked fine up until now.
Any support would be greatly appreciated.
Extra info; Running windows 10 with it auto restarting every day (just changed this)
There’s a few different ways to rename your PC. Open your Local Disc (C:) drive and click Users.
See if your new PC name shows up there or it’s still the old one. That’s where Plex is and if the name changed you could be looking at some type of file association issue. Plex is unable to find itself because the file where the app data is located is different. I recently renamed my PC but it only changed the name for certain things like when the computer boots or if you look under bluetooth devices for example.
I think I only did what you did and renamed what my pc shows up as to other devices, everything on the local disk seems to be the same. And I don’t think changing the display name of your pc affects the app data at all.
I went to uninstall it and re-install it and I saw the repair button and gave it a go and cross my fingers it seems to have fixed it. Thanks for all your help.
