For a while now, I cannot play anything on my Android player on Samsung Galaxy S21. It works phone on my iPhone XR though. I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and adjusting the quality settings. Nothing matters. I just get spinning wheel as if it’s buffering and nothing. Any thoughts??
I have the same issue, unfortunately it looks like something broke recently in the updates between android 12, and the plex app. Reddit also has a few people with the issue. The only workaround seems to be accessing plex via a browser. Hopefully they fix this soon. It’s particularly frustrating because I literally bought plex premium yesterday and the app has stopped working from that moment.
I’m using Android 12 also. Yes, this is really bad. What is Plex doing about this???
So far, I haven’t heard anything. I’m hopeful that enough noise gets made and they fix it.
Found another article on here… go to notifications for Plex and disable Media notifications within Android settings.

This worked for me on my s21 ultra. I was using an external player (VLC) before, but needed subtitles.
main android settings → apps → Plex → notifications → disabled/blocked
