I’m pretty sure my server’s been corrupted somehow–some folders won’t update, it takes forever to load relative to other shared servers, and in some cases it’s incorporating folders I didn’t ask it to–so I’m trying to delete and start from scratch. I’ve reinstalled plex multiple times and other topics suggest deleting or altering a file under Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/ but no such root structure exists on my mac! Is there any other way to reboot my server? How can these folders not exist? Much thanks!
Before going with the nuclear option, you might wanna try a database repair. This might save your watched history and your manual metadata edits etc.

Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/ does not exist on my computer. Can’t find it anywhere.
I am not a Mac user, but I think this is supposed to be
~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/
Yeah, that doesn’t exist on my computer. I have no idea what’s up with that.
What do I do when this folder structure doesn’t exist on my computer?
it is hidden by default. One way to get to it is listed in the uninstall link posted above
Using the Finder’s “Go” menu, select Go To Folder… then enter the following in the dialog box that pops up: ~/Library/
You can also open up Terminal and put this in an hit enter to unhide it
chflags nohidden ~/Library
You can also just use the “Option” key whilst in “Go” menu the library will appear.
My Favouite:
If you use the Library folder frequently you can add it to your Sidebar like this:
- Hold down the Option key and open the Go menu.
- Select Library from the list of places.
- Click-and-hold on the title bar of the open Library window and drag it to the Favorites section in the Sidebar .
