I keep hearing people say that the Plex Live TV/DVR is simple and easy to setup and a worthy successor to WMC but I have tried for several hours to get the setup to finish installing.
I’ve got a USB AVerMedia AVerTV Volar Hybrid Q that is detected during the initial setup. It seems to find digital channels during setup, the ones that are like 61.4, 64.5, etc. but none of the cable ones from my cable line connected to it show up in the list. Finally, when I get to the part where I choose my Guide data, I choose the guide that I chose for my WMC setup (the non Digital one) and upon clicking “Continue”, I get the error “There was a problem saving your DVR. Please try again.” In that list of channels are some that say “Protected” and many others that do not have a station assigned to the channel. My cable company does not have a guide that lists what those are, at least from what I have reviewed on their website.
I have tried to change different guides, re-scanned, rebooted, unplugged/replugged the device in, updated drivers…I can’t figure it out and I have tried what others suggested and none of those fixes worked. I see others still seem to have this issue. Anyone know what’s going on?
